At the PIDX Board meeting on Thursday, September 18, the Board reviewed the organization’s financial position and noted a budget deficit. To strengthen participation and ensure long-term sustainability, the Board has approved new lower-tier membership categories beginning January 5, 2026.

These new tiers are designed to make membership more accessible while expanding engagement across the energy community:

• Associate Member – Professional Membership: $750 annually
  • Selection of a PIDX Committee or Work Group for participation is required.
• Associate Member – Academic Membership: $500 annually
  • Selection of a PIDX Committee or Work Group for participation is required.

By introducing these tiers, PIDX aims to generate additional revenue, broaden participation, and encourage greater involvement from professionals and academics who are shaping the future of energy data standards.
