PIDX Ambassador Program Welcomes New Members
January 19th, 2018
HOUSTON, TEXAS – January 19, 2018– The Petroleum Industry Data eXchange (PIDX) standards body recently welcomed new Country Ambassadors Armando Gomez of Halliburton and Louis Hendriks of Global Value Web. Gomez will now serve as a PIDX Ambassador in engagements in Mexico and other Latin American countries while Hendriks focuses on Europe-specific initiatives. The Country Ambassador Program helps facilitate region-specific engagements aimed to educate, promote and influence the adoption and deployment of PIDX standards.
“Country Ambassadors are vital to PIDX and ultimately the industry because through them the message of standardization and the adoption of business process standards is spreading,” said Lynn Taylor, Oildex VP of Development and PIDX International Business Development Committee Chair. “We rely on our Ambassadors because not only are they experts in what they do, but they’re experts in how to apply global standards in Oil & Gas for their regions. They are users of business processes following the PIDX standards and experience the benefits.”
A seasoned engineer at Halliburton since 1990, Gomez previously held positions in Operations, Business Development, IT, and Finance. He currently serves as Halliburton’s eBusiness Integration Lead responsible for developing and implementing solutions for major customer accounts. Hendriks, Managing Director of Global Value Web, has more than 25 years of global business process and technology services experience. Prior to Global Value Web, Hendriks successfully designed, sold and implemented remote managed services (BPO) for Cap Gemini’s customers such as Dow Corning, Zurich Financial Services, Laurastar, Eneco, etc.
“As a PIDX Country Ambassador, I hope to educate and bring awareness to Mexico and other Latin American countries of the benefits of using PIDX as a standard when invoicing,” said Gomez.
According to a 2017 Billentis Market Report, Latin America will see an annual growth rate of 32% in the use of eInvoices from now through 2024 across all industries including Oil & Gas. Of that 32%, Mexico leads in terms of eInvoicing adoption.
Countries that have been represented by PIDX Country Ambassadors include the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Indonesia, India, UAE, and the Philippines. PIDX is looking to continue growing their number of Ambassadors in those countries in addition to expanding further into the Europe, Central/South America and Asia regions.
